My daughters absolutely love velvet yarn. And who can blame them? It’s the softest, cozyiest, squishiest yarn imaginable. So it’s natural that I would want to crochet a sweater for them from this soft yarn.
The benefit to this yarn is that it’s a chunky yarn, weight 5. So this is a fairly quick project, perfect for last minute gifts. Well, last minute as far as crocheting a sweater by hand can get. But you know what I mean!

I designed the Easton Pullover in seven sizes: 3M, 12M, 2T, 4, 6, 8, and 10. That way you can make one for every child on your gift list! The pattern is simple so you can play with colors on this one. Follow my traditional stripe patterns or create your own. Use your imagination and have fun!
This velvet sweater is a drop shoulder design with a little bit of armhole shaping to reduce bulk in the underarm area. It is composed of a front and back piece and trapezoid shaped sleeves. The sleeve increases are very simple, great for beginners.
The free pattern in all seven sizes is given below. You can also purchase the ad-free PDF on Etsy or Ravelry. Want a little help? Watch the full video tutorial right here:
