I love this pattern because it’s actually two for one! The PDF includes instructions for both short and long sleeves.
So, depending on the type of yarn you use, this could be your go-to sweater year round.
I love Knit Picks CotLin for spring and summer. It’s a dk weight yarn with a touch of linen so it doesn’t stretch. As you may know, 100% cotton yarn might stretch a bit. My daughter has worn hers several times and I haven’t seen any signs of stretching.
For for fall and winter, I’m imagining any dk weight yarn with some merino wool such as Swish DK. It would be gorgeous with the puffs!
Speaking of puffs…how cute are these? I named it the Dahlia sweater, because the circles of puffs remind me of the layers of petals in a dahlia flower. I love the added touch of the puffs on the sleeves…it just adds that extra dimension of interest.
I designed the pattern so it is worked from the top down with the sleeves finished last. The best part is, there’s no seaming!
